Friends of the Library
The non-profit organization, Friends of the Palm Springs Public Library, is an important library asset, valued for its public relations, fund raising, volunteering, and general support of library efforts.
Our Friends sponsor many activities including programs, refreshments, fund raising, service projects, and a special Born to Read gift for each baby born to Palm Springs residents or Village employees.
Friends Make a Difference!
The Friends of the Palm Springs Library work together to meet the goals of their Mission Statement which states:
"The Friends of the Palm Springs Library will strive to promote for all age groups: fundraising, library services, volunteerism, and communications between the library and the Palm Springs Community."
Each year the Friends ...

Sponsor a Book and Author Luncheon, a lecture series, and many other events.

They fund and serve refreshments,

provide printing and prizes for the children's bookmark contest,
-
sponsor book sales, and
-
meet monthly to prepare the Village Newsletter.
Friends' officers attend Library Board and Village Council meetings, work with other Village groups, and participate in regional and state library organizations. The Friends are the heart of the Palm Springs Library. Membership costs very little.

January 28 - Book Sale! 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM, with a special preview hour from 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM for all Friend's Members
February 4 - Book and Author Luncheon featuring bestselling, and West palm Beach native, Lucia St. Clair Robson! Program begins at noon, come early to bid at the chinese auction! The author's books will be available for purchase and signing. Tickets are available now - contact the library for more information.
March 27 - Anita Woyda (details to be annouced) 7:00 PM
April 24 - Bookmark Awards Ceremony, 7:00 PM. This event celebrates the artistic talens of our young patrons as the compete for the honor of having their designs published on bookmards avaialble at the library.
April 26 - Jazz at the Fountain! Returning for the second year, the Palm Springs Community Middle School will present a program of Jazz. These students show why the band program at the former Jefferson Davis Middle School rivals most High School Programs!
